:( TBBM2 not scoring correctly

I am sad.. I went to use my TBBM2 for the 1st time and figured do a dry run since I haven’t used the scoring tool yet.

Well, I am so so glad I did because it is not scoring in the proper areas :(

I’m going to give Provo Craft a call and see what we can do to fix this. I so wanted to make a cute little recipe box for my co-worker for New Years… not….

I tried 2 times, once for the separate piecing and once for the entire cut

Gift Card for Matt

Alison asked if I would make her a card for Matt. She surfed Pinterest and got some ideas and then we looked at the cartridges I had :) She wanted an Owl and we found this cutie on Hoot n Holler!

He was cut at 3” and the saying was scaled to fit. I used a couple of sizzix cuttlebug embossing folders and some stickles on the berry. I also used a stamp set from Cardztvstamps.com for the sentiment inside. I made this into a 3fold type card 5X7

Christmas Advent Calendar

This is a countdown calendar that I got a few years back. It is by Karen Foster and is available at Jo-Ann’s right now and on SALE!! I just ordered 2 more! :) !! so I can make some for gifts. The two I am working on right now are for my 2 Girls. One of whom has her own apt. now and could use some holiday decorations. I designed the template in CCR using the craftroom basics shapes and I have uploaded the file to 4share if anyone would like it. I will post up a finished picture when I complete it with all the other little details.

http://www.4shared.com/folder/FJUQOAiI/My_4shared_Sync.html

I’d love to see yours if you do one up. If you have any problem with the file please email me.

One of the next ones I do, I am going to do it double sided! Halloween and Christmas :)

thanks for looking :)

Halloween Treats

I saw these pop holders in several of the blogs I follow and even a Die for the holder on one. So I thought, Heck, let me try to make something in CCR and, well I think I like mine :) Especially cuz it cost me $0 !  talk about last minute me… while waiting for Hurricane Sandy to take her toll and possibly make me bring 1/2 my craft room area upstairs I decided I better get movin..

anyone who would like the ccr file, just drop me an email

I made the holder with shapes from George and welded them together :)

Happy Birthday to Matt

I put this little card together for Ashton’s BF. He LUVS FOOTBALL!!

I found these digital papers at this Etsy Shop. She has all different football teams colors! The little Football Nut is from Bugaboo Digital Stamps. I wanted to follow a sketch I had seen on this Blog that I follow. She has beautiful work!

IMG_0007 IMG_0005

The digi stamp is colored with copic markers and a white gel pen on the football. I used my new Spellbinders M Bossibiities :) on the 2 thinner pieces of paper. The inside ticket stamp sentiment is from the Ticket Talk set from Cardz TV Stamps.com

Happy Birthday Giraffe

Alison turns 30! Oh my gosh, I’m getting older! lol  She adores giraffes, especially since we went to Disney this past year and stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The giraffes would water during the day and bedded down right outside our room! She named them all Geoffrey (like Toys R Us). I found it fitting to do this little card for her. I used the Zooballoo Cartridge. The card is cut at 8.5 x 4.25. I then used some chocolate flocking for his spots and his ears. It’s hard to see, but I chalked the clouds with blue. Enjoy :)

Halloween Frame

Hi again! I made a mini album for a co worker who’s daughter just had a baby earlier this summer and she has decided to use the remaining pages I didn’t decorate for the holidays thru the end of the year. I came up with this little frame using the Happy Hauntings 3D freebies and a cute little pumpkin from the Artiste cartridge. The papers were from a DCWV fall paper stack and welded in CCR. I made this to fit the 5 1/2 sized pages. The frame is cut at 4.45 height and is 4.25 with the welded pumpkin. The opening will fit a  2 1/2 oval picture. I’d be happy to share the file, just PM me :) if you’d like. Thanks for looking

Bones

I cut these two fellas from the Artiste Cartridge. I was using the cart for the other little cuts on my cards(previous post) and they caught my eye! These are just very simple put on the mat and cut away. I wanted to have my daughter show her BF’s sister what crazy possibilites we (CRICUT/Imagine Fanatics) have to help her decorate her new classroom. She is a special needs teacher and just got an official teaching position in a local elementary school. They basically gave her an empty room, with no blackboards, desks etc, so its building a class from ground zero! We also found out she cut 150 leaves by hand!  totally not necessary!!!

anyhow, the Boo is at 1.6” for height in CCR and the skeletons, one flipped are at 11.15” height and the head is 1.569” height. 2 fit on the page.

I am finding so many other cool things on this Artiste Cartridge,  it’s becoming a fav :)

A few Halloween cards

IMG_0002 IMG_0001 IMG_0003

I played with a few of the freebie pieces from Happy Hauntings that I had cut earlier this month. I did a banner cut from the Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge for the Ghostly sentiment which is a stamp from CardzTvstamps.com. The Happy Halloween stamp is from The {Stamps}of Life. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the little mouse and grave border. The pirate Ghost has stickle on his hat and a google eye and a piece of ric -rac from my stash. Hope you enjoy  :) and Happy Halloween!

The Haunted House is a 5 x 7 card and the Ghost is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

Team Teddy Bears

I had so much fun doing these little fella's up! One is a take on the game outfit of the Patriots and the other is the Dolphins. I used CCR and the E2 for all cuts and stash cardstock. The Teddy Bears are cut at 4.5 as well as all their outfits TIP TIP TIP The one thing I found on this cartridge is that in hiding some cuts you really have to zoom as far in as possible or you will miss a few of the slash guides that the piece has! I got a whole page done and errrrrrrr slices through some of the cuts.

Canning and gift labels to match

I did up some Mustard Pickle and made this cute little tag for it. I used the CCR and welded 2 canning jars together. I used swiss dots cuttlebug to emboss bumps for the pickles, branches to the gray piece I hand cut from a single cut of the jar to give it some ridges like the real twist caps have and circles for the jars to resemble pickles. I used Savory for the canning jar and Just Because Cards for the pickle if you would like the ccr file, feel free to email me :)

Easter Egg Parade

just a quick card I colored up with copics. The digi is from Hambo Stamps.com. I used the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge for the mat cuts at 3 and 3.25. The image is done with the center point feature of the cricut :) I used Elegant Edges for the little 1/2 inch  (x2 for each side) border pieces behind the mat and the ribbon came from Reasonable Ribbon. I think Mom will like this one :)  Oh and the sentiment stamps are from Stamps of Life

Ahoy Birthday Card for Paul

IMG_0055IMG_0054   IMG_0056

I thought I’d get a jump on a  card for Paul’s birthday next month. Being the boat man he is,he will have fun with this fella made using the Imagine Buccaneer cartridge :)

It’s a 4x5 card size. I layered him up with a simgle thickness of foam tape. The papers were also printed from the cartridge. Beads are from stash. The "Ahoy" is from Create a Critter and filled with the color on Buccaneer cartridge.

Don’t look too close you will see I put the bottom strip on upside down! arrrrghhhh (lol)

quick St. Patricks

card for my Mom. I hope I remember to mail it!! :) I wanted to try a shaped card, so I used the shadow feature on the Designer's Calendar cart and welded them together to form the card base in the Cricut Craft Room. Then I cut another one for the front top layer slightly smaller then the base card. The card stock on the base in Coordinations and I sanded the edges to give the green border(which was the backing color). The sentiments are from a Stamps of Life set.
the ribbon is stash from AC Moore or Joann's
This fits a 5x7 envelope

Valentines cards

Everyday Cricut and Scrapping Under Influence Blogs that I follow on Google Reader were the inspiration for 2 of these cards. The other, Hearts with little tag LOVE I just did up using my Imagine and the Echo Park Yours Truly paper pack. All fantastic papers and stickers for Valentines Day!

There was one other that I made for my Oldest Daughter of a Koala holding a heart balloon that I forgot to snap a picture. I'll get it when I visit her :) He came from the Create a Critter cartridge.

progress is slow

I'm a bit early with the progress picture, but I definately see alot more of a log now. Here's the original post. I never did say how big this is,but approx 14 X 11 when all finished. He has a shadow border all the way around him that will be the last to do.
I've got a few little recycle notebooks I'm working on and will post a picture of them finished in a day or two. I've been busy these days with gathering, purchasing and packing things for the oldest, she's got her own new apt for Feb 1 ! She wanted to be out of the house by the time she turned 30 and that will be in October. She's very excited and I am too for her :) It's a great little place. I hope it all works out for her :) Will definately miss her and her father yelling at the TV during sports games! although she did say she'd be here to do laundry which might coincide with games ..LOL
ok, off to play before the AFC game and Bruins Hockey game at 3pm.

1st significant White Stuff

we got our 1st significant snow today. It started around 7am and just stopped at 3:45 - 4 pm. It's the light fluffy stuff and there is about 4-4 1/2 inches worth.
The dogs HATE wearing coats, although Derb is way worse then B. I went out at about 10:30am to bring Alison to the train station for her 1pm Bruins game and the roads were horrible! Her car did NOT want to make our little hill when I was coming home. I did stop at the store to pick up stuff for a Carrot Ginger soup she wants to try.(not making till sunday maybe)
anyhow, played with cricut for some dolphins to etch on some glasses Ashton got for Matt and cut some scrap recycle paper to make some little notebooks.
Have a good night all :)

Say Cheese

Ashton got a new I Phone 4 for Christmas this year. Now she looks just like her sister, looking down and texting and surfing away. She and Matt discovered the camera feature too :)

IMG_0017

IMG_0014this little guy is from create a critter cut at about 3”. I gypsy welded a rectangle with the camera layer to make a mat for the picture, a 4x6 size. I added a bit of glossy accents to the mouse’s eyes and nose. The papers are from my stash.

finished size: 12 x 12 scrapbook page :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

it's officially new years day and I am hoping this post will keep me going for one of my resolutions this year. Normally I don't bother making any as things always distract me from following through; maybe that should be one..hmmm follow through. Well, anyhow. I started this cross stitch project near 25 or more years ago. My stitching phase took a back seat when I started in on scrapping and card making with the cricut, so that's about 7 years now maybe. My goal is to try and get him finished by the end of this year. I do have a large amount of him done, so I think that is a reasonable goal.A few hrs every other day or more and it should work. I started in on him on 12/28 to get the juices going :)
I'll try and post a progress picture every month :)
the other resolution I have is to make at least 2 projects form every cricut and imagine cartridge I own.. over 93 as of today!
off to the craft lair I go :)
