Everyday Cricut and Scrapping Under Influence Blogs that I follow on Google Reader were the inspiration for 2 of these cards. The other, Hearts with little tag LOVE I just did up using my Imagine and the Echo Park Yours Truly paper pack. All fantastic papers and stickers for Valentines Day!

There was one other that I made for my Oldest Daughter of a Koala holding a heart balloon that I forgot to snap a picture. I'll get it when I visit her :) He came from the Create a Critter cartridge.

progress is slow

I'm a bit early with the progress picture,but I definately see alot more of a log now. Here's the original post. I never did say how big this is,but approx 14 X 11 when all finished. He has a shadow border all the way around him that will be the last to do.
I've got a few little recycle notebooks I'm working on and will post a picture of them finished in a day or two. I've been busy these days with gathering,purchasing and packing things for the oldest, she's got her own new apt for Feb 1 ! She wanted to be out of the house by the time she turned 30 and that will be in October. She's very excited and I am too for her :) It's a great little place. I hope it all works out for her :) Will definately miss her and her father yelling at the TV during sports games! although she did say she'd be here to do laundry which might coincide with games ..LOL
ok, off to play before the AFC game and Bruins Hockey game at 3pm.

1st significant White Stuff

we got our 1st significant snow today. It started around 7am and just stopped at 3:45 - 4 pm. It's the light fluffy stuff and there is about 4-4 1/2 inches worth.
The dogs HATE wearing coats,although Derb is way worse then B. I went out at about 10:30am to bring Alison to the train station for her 1pm Bruins game and the roads were horrible! Her car did NOT want to make our little hill when I was coming home. I did stop at the store to pick up stuff for a Carrot Ginger soup she wants to try.(not making till sunday maybe)
anyhow, played with cricut for some dolphins to etch on some glasses Ashton got for Matt and cut some scrap recycle paper to make some little notebooks.

Ashton got a new I Phone 4 for Christmas this year. Now she looks just like her sister,looking down and texting and surfing away. She and Matt discovered the camera feature too :)

this little guy is from create a critter cut at about 3”. I gypsy welded a rectangle with the camera layer to make a mat for the picture, a 4x6 size. I added a bit of glossy accents to the mouse’s eyes and nose.The papers are from my stash.

it's officially new years day and I am hoping this post will keep me going for one of my resolutions this year. Normally I don't bother making any as things always distract me from following through; maybe that should be one..hmmm follow through. Well, anyhow. I started this cross stitch project near 25 or more years ago. My stitching phase took a back seat when I started in on scrapping and card making with the cricut, so that's about 7 years now maybe.My goal is to try and get him finished by the end of this year. I do have a large amount of him done, so I think that is a reasonable goal.A few hrs every other day or more and it should work. I started in on him on 12/28 to get the juices going :)
I'll try and post a progress picture every month :)

the other resolution I have is to make at least 2 projects form every cricut and imagine cartridge I own.. over 93 as of today!
off to the craft lair I go :)

I made this little holder from a video tutorial at CardzTv It starts out with a 4 1/4 x 10' piece of cardstock (score at 2,5,6& 7") and a strip piece 1 x 7" for the closure(score at 2" & 5")
In a coordinating paper cut 4 at 2 3/4 x 4" and cut 2 at 1 3/4 x 4"

I also used a spellbinder die to cut the circle for the sentiment that is from CardzTv Stamps also (Ticket Talk set)

I came across this little bug from Bugaboo Stamps that I had printed. Ah Ha! a BAH! HUMBUG! LOL

I colored him up with my copic markers,pulled out a stash of papers,ran a piece of cardstock through the cuttlebug and cut him with a spellbinder die. The font is Chiller and I cut it with the Fabulous Finds cartridge on my Expression(center point feature).This is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 vertical open

Bugaboo Birthday

It's been awhile, but today I had some time to put together a birthday card for my office mate. Her husbands birthday is New Years Day and she wanted a "fun" card. I got this image from Bugaboo Stamps. I used my new Expression 2 for the swirl/flourish on the inside from the Cricut Essentials that was pre-loaded. I did the snowflake cut from Accent Essentials at 4 3/4.
the Marquee Oblong (center point cut) is from Elegant Edges.I sorta winged the sentiment, but wished I hit Italic for the suit inside the card and put up for dress up.. oh well :/ I like it anyhow. The bling are from recollections.

I colored this with copics and the digi is from Clear Dollar Stamps. I had bought some handmade paper from Paper Source and decided to use this as a background for this stamp.

The glitter dots are from Recollections I picked up at Michaels in the clearance isle with 25% off too! wooohooo :)
I used a spellbinders die to cut the image after I colored and the other cardstock is from my stash.

I found that I needed a sympathy card for the family of one of my daughters best friends. She lost her Gram on Friday after a very brief battle with ovarian cancer. I was fortunate to have met her this past 4th of July for a BBQ we went to. I am so glad I had that chance. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed.

I had lots of fun with this card :) This was my very first Rosette try and I’m pleased with the outcome.It does however puzzle me how I am supposed to mail this to someone??? lol ( I get to keep it !) I did the 2 strips at 2” and then scored at the 1/2 inch and then 1/4 inch on the reverse side to make the accordion easy and smooth. The image is called Puppy Magic at Designed 2 Delight. I colored him with copics and the added layer of the cauldron happened purely by accident! I was coloring two images and the copic blobbed a whole puddle on his face! :( I like that raised piecing though :) The papers are from a Seasonal Paper stack and stash cardstocks. I also used Martha’s All Occasions Cake Cart for the diamond piece with Stickles Dots :) The green and black circles are cut using George and Basic Shapes and run through the cuddlebug with the swiss dots embossing folder.

I used my Imagine for probably the 3rd time :) I’m sorry, I forgot to write down which cartridge they were. I printed a few papers and then I used Florals Embellished for the flower cut at 3 1/2. The pink cardstock is from my stash as the brown and bright pink too. I used shaped scissors(no name) to cut the scallop border pieces. I also used some Stickles on the leaves and the sentiments are from {Stamps}of Life. The card is a standard 4/1/4 x 5 1/2.

for some reason this song came into my head and I knew I had to do something for Halloween! I found a great 3 eyed creature on Toy Story, so out came the Gypsy :) I love the hide feature! His horn was pieced from this freebie digital monster that I colored with my copics. The fence and the bones came from Everyday Paper Dolls. The papers were from JoAnns $1.00 bins :) and the card stock is my stash cut as a portrait 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

It's been a wk or so since I posted. The hurricane spared us this time around! I finally got my scrapping area somewhat back together :), rather all in one place again.
I've colored this little franken weenie from paper smooches and he is awaiting a card.

Then I had gotten a Scream Coffin svg from Cute-cutz and I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and mouth. I am really happy with the cut and how it turned out! great treat box!!

Next I played with a svg cut for Ashton's boyfriend who is a Miami Dolphin fan and not so much the Patriots:/

The svg's were cut on my Cricut Expression and I used card stock from my stash :) Hope you all had a nice Sunday!

staying busy during Hurricane Irene

with all things put away and done for prep of the storm,we all did something to keep busy. Ashton read for her 1st class, Alison sat in front of the TV and Laptop and IPhone, Walt decided to make Gazpacho and had quite the mess going and I kept making a few cards. This one is from the Celebrations cartridge. The balloons were cut at 2 3/4, 3 1/2 and 4. It is a 5x7 card and I also used some string from the twinery I believe..(bought on ebay) It's not quite finished yet, I have to stamp a sentiment on,but my stamps are buried in a safe storm place :)

I needed something to do rather then watch the tv until our power goes out. Winds are beginning to gust now..12:10pm right on the predictions schedule.

trying to stay busy pre Hurricane Irene. I used Home Décor for the cupcake 3 1/4 inches. The Happy Birthday cut came from Birthday Bash cut at 3 3/4 inches. The light pink and the paisley is from Paisley Parade from K*1. I used stickles gold in between the frosting and cupcake layers. I also had a cupcake stamp I used with Vera Mark ink on the brown cardstock and the dark pink scallop was done using a Martha Stewart punch.

I just got my new COZIES from KathiesCozies! They are BEAUTIFUL and my machines are so HAPPY! My workspace is in my basement which really isn’t a finished finished one, so there tends to be a lot more dust then normal. Now there is No More Dust to worry about. I found Kathy through some other blogs that I follow and I am so so glad I did :) Her sister even does beautiful crochet flowers and if I’m not mistaken I actually had ordered from her too awhile back. :)

Ashton asked that I make her a card for a co-worker that just moved into a new home. This is what I came up with :)

I used:

Elegant Edges – circle border @ 3/4” and 1/2”, Beyond Birthdays – house at 1 1/2”,Club Scrap kit Blossom – card, stash –white card stock for houses and inside, jute ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and twine from Ebay purchase(which might have come from Twinery I think). The card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 standard.

I put the houses on foam tape for a bit of definition and slightly edged with distressed ink.

I really enjoyed this because I finally used some of the gorgeous papers I have from the monthly Club Scrap club I belonged ages ago!

I decided a rainy day was the perfect time to play with 2 of the new cartridges I got :) Robotz and Toy Story

1st the robot Ashton picked out, I think a bookmark for that one and the Mr. Potato Head for Alison, “ hey Spud” as she is frequently called while watching tv..lol

She’ll probably just stand him near her computer in her bedroom

the robot is at 2 1/2” and definitely could be much larger with those tiny pieces and potato is at 3”, he also could be larger. I used the jelly roller white to add some detail :)

I had only a few hrs. to throw together a card for Ashton to put with her Bridal Shower gift to Lindsay that is on Saturday. The catch is that she is heading to Vermont with a few friends for 4 days tomorrow evening and had to get the gift to the other bridesmaid so she could take it.

I used a digital Hedgie I just bought from Dragonsmoore ! We LOVE HEDGIES!! The gift she bought is tons of yummies from Stonewall Kitchen. The crate came from AC Moore as well as the Hydrangea, which are Lindsay’s wedding colors :)

I colored the Hedgie with my Copics :)

I used Elegant Edges for the scallop border and the card is a 5 x 5

I signed up for a class using my Bind It All at My Creative Classroom. This is the 1st project in the line for wk 1. I did mess up on the cover piece and had to redo it so it ended up the way I wanted for the back. Although the instructions are said to NOT embellish until bound, I did add a couple of brads before hand. I think it just made it easier to make the holes on such a little booklet :) It measures 3 x 4

I signed up for a kit a month club through Annie’s Attic and the 1st one arrived Saturday. The 1st projects stamp however is not cut deep enough in an area right in the middle of the stamp. I wrote, hopefully I’ll get a replacement. It is a cute bird on a branch. I altered the stamp and oval elements a bit and came up with this one. I decided not to stamp the sentiment “Miss You” (part of the kit) it wanted because I thought it can be an ANY OCCASION card.

I follow Get It Scrapped and Michelle had this fantastic tutorial and CUTE little Monster :) I had lots of fun and did one up into a little book mark for Ashton. He’s covered with Diamond Glaze,just incase of leaking into her book..it made her feel better even though I told her the markers are alcohol based and wouldn’t. The other’s will go into a card or two or three or however many more I color :)

this week end. I managed to color a few digital pictures and get 2 of them into cards. The Panda card (saw on Cooking with Cricut,Jen's ) background is a stamp called Doily at Unity Stamps. The Panda is cut at 3" from Create A Critter and the papers are from my stash. I actually did 2 of these,one with a more masculine hat and one with a feminine color for my brother and sister who are twins and birthdays are coming up.
The doggy card digital stamp is from ?? Bugaboo?? really not sure and I have put a better saving system in place when downloading my stamps now :) The image is colored with Copics and papers/cardstock are my stash

I made this frame from magnet material using the Gypsy Wanderings cart after watching the dvd I bought from Above Rubies Studio on Gypsy A to Z. I have found this to be a terrific help in getting to know my new toy :) I glued cardstock rather then using vinyl to get the brown and pink Coleen luvs so much :)
I had forgotten to take a pic before giving to Coleen on Mother's Day as a little thank you for the brunch and she took one for me with and added BONUS! Maddison! she's soooooooo cute :)

I finished planting some vegetables in my little garden. I sure hope they survive. It’s still on the cool side these nights,but they do get the full sun when its out :) I’ve got red and green peppers, yellow and zucchini squash,lettuces and spinach,basil and of course the tomatoes and 1 hot pepper plant! oh , and burpless cuc's to grow up the trellis! keeping fingers crossed

sorry ‘bout the table..still learning. This is a card for my friend Robin.

I colored him with my Copics, and I used sizzix embossing swiss dots on the brown mat,ribbon is from Michaels, cardstock is my stash and the sentiment stamps (2 different sets used) are from the {stamps}of life which I am a monthly club member.

With the BRUINS doing so well and a very important part of Alison’s time lately;(dad too) when I saw an Ernie done up for a baseball team, I KNEW I had to do it up and SURPRISE HER! I'm not sure if he'll go in a scrapbook layout or just framed up in an 8 1/2 X 11 frame.

Ernie is from Sesame Street Friends cartridge and is cut a 6”

The emblem, I scanned from a magnet we have and used MTC to make the layers for cutting. The finished outside circle is 4”

I just got a few new little hedgie stamps and whipped this little one up before Ashton got home. She is determined to get one as a pet when she has her own apt.; I don’t think Derb and B would like him too much :/ Can stamp RELAX(ing) or Hello or?? Enjoying playing with these digitals! It seems to be helping get used to my new Copic collection(getting there slowly). Here’s the one I did today, “The challenge is to combine at least 2 different patterns of designer paper, like stripes, plaids, and polka dots.“

My papers are from Basic Grey’s Lollipop digital collection that I printed out. Reasonable Ribbons and my copics were used as well. Of course the D2D freebie from this past week too

of all this snow!

A one two punch we got. At 7am there was about 5- 6 1/2 inches.on top of the 8 in. we got yesterday. This mornings was enough that I couldn’t open the front door. I decided..blahhh went back to bed after Walt and Ashton went to work, I had prearranged for the day off knowing what was on the horizon!and Alison of course stayed in bed(till 11:45am) At 8am I decided to go out and snow blow some of the girls paths and clean up as much as I could before it turns to rain and sleet.I even got some play time with the girls, having them running throught the maze :)

Good thing I did!! It got really uckky! The temp went to 36 and then dropped to below 32 in a matter of and hr. and further down and down making for frozen slop!

has gone by. Busy getting Gram (Mom) to a MD appt. here in Boston. Then back after having a treat at the hairdressers this morning a cut for me and a wash and set for Mom.
I have been going to them since the day I got married. The girls and dear hubby too,although he has the rationale that he shouldn't pay the higher cost for less hair to cut..lol
Tomorrows plan is to get back to organize my papers and start some Christmas cards and fun stuff :) have a great wk end all !

well, I didn't get any scrapping done. I actually started to make a mouse. He's one that goes to a Christmas Countdown calendar I got from Avon when my girls were very very young...hint hint... (they and me are getting older).

A friend's family has one as well although a pet, ate the mouse!..booo
I also tried a new recipe from a free issue of Cuisine at Home and it was DELICIOUS!!!

tired and a new wk ahead.. time for some tv time.. and zzzz's and I promise one of these days I will figure out how to organize my uploaded pictures better. If you want the recipe, please feel free to contact me :) wicked easy and yummy!

Not fun being Sick

I've been blah since a wk ago this past Friday. It all began as a sore throat then went to laryngitis for the wk, now runny nose,sore nose, dry throat and if I didn't have the flu shot and H1 shots back in Nov. I'd think I got them both together :(
Went to work all wk,but then this past Friday,the faucets opened full force. I pretty much stayed in bed all day and then had to get up to go get my new glasses that came in today. I did manage to sit here and play with a new LO for the blog..trying something new :) hope you like it so far.

It's about 6:30 pm (est) and I am very much on my way to watching some tv in my comfy pj's and the 2 doggies :)
I went to the Orthopedic surgeon and have clearance with a 1 lb. limit for pushing,pulling and lifting.
Alison is off to her hotel for a restful prep for the Winter Classic hockey game tomorrow and Ashton is off to Payack's (college friend) for the 4th annual new years eve event with college friends.
It snowed today about 2.5 - 3" , requiring a bit of shoveling and forecast is saying a few more all wk end which might require Ashton to head back to her apt. in CT. earlier then planned. She is on "duty" beginning Monday.
My hope is to be a bit more on top of postings for the new year, but who knows..:) Have a safe and happy one all!!!

Sneaking a nap under the tree. That's my Derb :) Bailey really isn't used to Christmas trees as we have been going away in December and not getting a tree for a few yrs. now. The routine was on my birthday,the 11th, to get our tree and decorate in a few days following. This year we are staying local and taking Christmas to my folks in CT. The last few wks. it's been crazy as always trying to figure out gifts for whom and how many. I am just into my 3rd time of PT for my hand/thumb surgery.
I've been spending time making Christmas cards with my cricut and all the scrapbook paraphernalia I have in the basement.

What a week so far! Maybe those weather forecasters are going to be right on this year. Snow on Sunday and again today. Today's has now turned to rain,but before it did this is what I looked like after about 2hrs and 15 min of muck plowing and shoveling.The girls went out for just a little bit while it was still snow,but right in they came. A Nice warm shower and some homemade Turkey soup for lunch to warm back up :) oops power out at 12:20 and back on at 1:07
